Orthodontics in Noosa

A woman holding clear aligners There’s no doubt that a beautiful smile is one of the most important features of a person’s appearance. Not only does it enhance your looks, but it also improves your self-esteem.

Orthodontic treatment has come a long way in recent years, offering patients more choices than ever before. Clear aligners, in particular, have become an increasingly popular option for teeth straightening because of their comfort, convenience, and discreteness.

That’s why we are pleased to offer this type of orthodontic treatment at Morton Dental. There are many brands of clear aligners available; we are proud to work with SmileStyler, an Australian company that uses top-quality materials to create custom aligners in their state-of-the-art 3D printing facility in Victoria.

What Are the Main Benefits?

While traditional fixed metal braces do an excellent job of straightening one’s smile, clear aligners do as well, plus they offer many other advantages:

One of the most significant benefits of clear aligners is their discreteness. Unlike traditional metal braces, clear aligners are virtually invisible and much more comfortable to wear. Clear aligners are also removable, which means you can take them out while eating, brushing or flossing your teeth. And because brushing and flossing is easier, there’s less risk of decay and gum disease.

Another benefit of clear aligners is that they require fewer visits to the dentist than traditional metal braces. Since clear aligners must be worn for at least 22 hours a day, patients typically visit their dentist approximately every six weeks.

Compared with the bi-weekly adjustments required with traditional braces, clear aligner visits are much less time-consuming and flexible.

Adults with busy careers or lifestyles often prefer clear aligners, as they do not disrupt the wearer’s professional and social life. Correcting misaligned teeth can result in a stronger sense of self-assurance, particularly in professional environments where appearances hold significant importance. Furthermore, having a more aligned smile has been proven to enhance self-assurance in social settings, contributing to improved communication and relationships.

What to Expect

At an initial consultation, the dentist will determine whether you are a suitable candidate for aligner therapy. If this is the case and you would like to proceed, we will take an OPG X-ray, scan your teeth, and send the scan off to the laboratory. We would then receive a treatment plan based on your scan. At this point, we will inform you of the cost, and if you agree, we would then have the aligners made.
